MOD Curiosity Spot

Curiosity Spot

Client: Museum of  Discovery
Location: Little Rock, Arkansas

Challenge:

Re-envision an existing 3,000 square foot traveling exhibit gallery to serve the museum's fast-growing number of visitors aged 6 to 9 while welcoming older visitors as well

Solution:

Concept and design the Curiosity Spot, a space where young kids can flex and strengthen their curiosity muscles. Curiosity is connected to success in school and life. The act of being curious enhances intelligence, increases “grit”, makes us more open to others’ thoughts, and even helps make new neural connections. This new gallery will support those benefits by inviting kids to engage in novel experiences, face complex challenges, and navigate a bit of whimsical ambiguity. Not only will this space tickle the funny bone, but it will also pique interest and spark learning with a lifelong impact.
Scope:
Planning and design, architectural advising, budgeting, fundraising documentation
