Museum of Discovery Climber

Atrium Climber

Client: Museum of Discovery
Location: Little Rock, Arkansas

Challenge:

Re-envision an existing two-story atrium as a memorable, iconic experience

Solution:

Concept a climbing "city" filled with a wide variety of safe risk-taking challenges and pathways for children and their families to explore. The three towers of the city create visually interesting views and photo opportunities at different vantage points that can be shared. And gross motor challenges like a net tower, net bridge, vertical platform maze, and handhold hill help young visitors build physical skills and mental confidence in themselves.

Take a tour of the Atrium Climber, which opened in November 2022, here:
Scope:
Master planning and design, architectural interface and construction administration
"From the earliest concept drawings through fly-through video renderings through the installation of the climber itself, our experience with Hands On! was smooth and easy. Their design was innovative, creative, and fun. And not only did they meet every deadline, but they also kept us up to date on progress every step of the way. In December 2022, the first full month our climber  was open, public admission revenue totaled 60% more than any December in our 95-year history!"
