Location: Saint Petersburg, Florida

Re-envision and expand this existing museum as a “great place to hang out” for the community’s kids and families

Design the new Great Explorations to be a welcoming playspace of laughter, discovery, and interaction. We chose to create several distinct “hang-outs” throughout the space, where kids and caregivers could find their own comfortable niche, and interact with others in cooperative activities. Music and art, role-playing and technology, body-on and intricate building—all beckon the imagination here, creating a varied and comfortable community hub that supports a diverse community.

Scope:

Master planning, exhibition design, exhibit prototyping & evaluation, space planning, infrastructure specification, graphic design & production, media scripting & user interface design, fabrication & installation management
