CDMoD New

The New CDMoD

Client: Children's Discovery Museum of the Desert
Location: Rancho Mirage, California
Opening March 2024

Challenge:

Transform a museum that we originally designed 20 years ago into a forward-looking space of community interaction that takes advantage of the entire campus

Solution:

Re-envision a multifaceted facility that is ready to nurture the increasingly diverse families of the Coachella Valley for decades to come. The new CDMoD will encompass a completely revitalized children's museum, an ever-changing Studio space for open-ended art, invention and programming, a tool-rich Lab for older kids, teachers and community groups, and an outdoor exploration zone called The Oasis. The new CDMoD will use these spaces to welcome people to explore and develop their powers of creativity to build capable kids, stronger families, and a more connected community.
Scope:
Exhibition master planning and design, construction documents, construction administration, museum board visioning workshops, fundraising materials development, capital campaign budgeting, conceptual master planning
